In 2022, The SADC Secretariat announced the official launch of a challenge fund established to empower and build the capacity of women entrepreneurs to actively participate in SADC’s industrialization Agenda. The Industrialization and Women Economic Empowerment (IWEE) project’s main objective is to increase the participation of women-owned businesses and women entrepreneurs in selected SADC regional value chains.
Imani Development was commissioned to;
i) Provide administrative services for the management of the SADC IWEE Challenge Fund.
ii) Provide technical advisory services and training to the IWEE Challenge Fund recipients.
The Challenge Fund is a key intervention of the SADC Project on “Industrialization and Women Economic Empowerment” (IWEE) funded by the German Government and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and GOPA Worldwide Consultants GmbH, in cooperation with the SADC Secretariat.
