Esnath is the Qualitative Researcher & Projects Coordinator for Imani Development Malawi. In her role, Esnath coordinates consultancy projects in agriculture, economic development, private and public sector development, and community development. She is responsible for key research components including facilitating focus group discussions and interviews; research tool design, translation and testing; community entry and recruitment of study participants; recruiting, training and supervising external research assistants; and financial management. Her key interests are in climate-smart agriculture/climate resilience, social behavioural change, and their intersections.
Prior to joining Imani, Esnath served as a Transition Program Coordinator for Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation, a Research Associate for various research projects throughout Malawi, and a Community Development Facilitator for Plan International. Esnath graduated from the University of Malawi Chancellor College with a Bachelor’s in Social Science, Sociology and Psychology, and is currently earning her Masters in Sociology from the same university. She also holds a Diploma in Agriculture Extension and Natural Resources Management from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR).
