Andrew Simpson as Managing Director of Imani Development International has a proven track record of over 20 years in Senior Management positions with international companies across multi-site and multi-discipline teams. Among a wide array of competencies, he has extensive experience in operational performance management, organisational change, programme design/evaluation and training development across both the public/private sectors as well as on donor-funded programmes. Formerly the MD of Imani Development in South Africa, Andrew is now concurrently also the Managing Director of Imani Development International Ltd based in Cape Town, having led an MBO of the company in 2013. Imani has operated as a leading economic development consultancy in southern and eastern Africa for more than 30 years.
His day-to-day role at Imani, as well as his previous experience as the Regional Brand Manager for Volkswagen UK for 12 years with oversight of 48 businesses, gives Andrew a wealth of experience and insight into business operations and change, project management and operational effectiveness. At Imani, Andrew has managed large development projects in Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe for clients such as DFID and the European Commission. Mr. Simpson holds a B.Soc.Sc from the University of Birmingham (1988) and completed numerous courses in change management, leadership and coaching/mentorship through Volkswagen Management Training in the UK.
